Thanksgiving in Texas

Yesterday I celebrated Thanksgiving Texas style.  First we bought a smoked turkey the day before.  If you've never had a smoked turkey you should try one.  Sounds dumb but the best way to describe it was "Smoky".  Really good flavor.  We had the blessing of hosting Danielle's mom Lesley with us this year.  Great meal and enjoyable fun putting it all together and even cleaning up.

The next part of the day was pure Texas.  Soren and I got picked up to head to Texas Stadium to watch the Cowboys take on the Seahawks.  Now I grew up in Seattle so I'm a Seahawks fan but since I've lived here I've been slowly converting to "Americas Team."   We went with my friend Steve and his dad.  The seats that I had been given were epic.  32 yard line 15 rows from the field.  The view was phenomenal.  It seemed that most of the people sitting around us had been friends for years as they all had their season tickets for a long time.  We hardly ever sat down at the game.   At half time the Jonas Brothers played.  Although the sound was terrible the experience was fun.

There are only a few games left at Texas Stadium before the season is over and they move to the new stadium next year.  I wanted to experience the old stadium before they moved.  It was really fun to be there with Soren too have an amazing dad and boy moment.

On one funny note at one point during the game he turned to me and pointed to the seats behind the end zone way at the top top of the stadium and said "Dad those are the seats we could afford right.  We're lucky someone gave us these huh?"  I loved it.  Nothing was better than standing next to him while he stood on a seat and watched the game.  I also realized he knows nothing about football so that's got to change.

Today is a rainy day in Texas.  We're not doing much. Danielle left to take Lesley to the airport and went to do some shopping.  We're just hanging out.
