Dallas has some pretty big buildings. I was away on an overnight pastors retreat Tues-Wed and we stayed in one of them. Pretty fun to have all of our meetings looking out over the tops of all these major buildings. Someone pointed out to me what used to be the tallest building in Dallas. It was at least 18 stores below where we were at.
At one point we went an walked to an old church downtown. It was interesting to see a traditional looking church surrounded by huge buildings. Sort of a metaphor I think for how many churches are finding themselves surrounded an overshadowed by culture. They still have their place but it’s sure hard to see them.
A good time of sharing ideas, brainstorming, talking about issues and building relationships.
