I’m realizing that I am thinking a lot about patterns lately. As a self-professed hater of all things routine I have to also admit that there are things about patterns which I like. I don’t like knowing exactly how my week schedules out and the routine of knowing what is happening each day. But I also like knowing some of the things are planned and coming up soon. Today is one of those days where I have a couple of meetings and a lot to do. It’s Thursday and I like Thursdays because I typically don’t have anything to do in the evening.
I used to really like Thursdays because I knew that the next day I would get to spend the whole morning with Danielle going out to breakfast and just hanging out. Those mornings are sort of over now that she has a job.
It’s 9am and I have the whole day ahead of me. Here’s a couple of things I need to get done today:
1. Work on my talk for Sunday (Trinity part 3: Why do all 3 parts have so many names?)
2. Meeting with the Executive Director of HPPC at 11am.
3. Meeting with the Executive Director of the YMCA and others to talk about a basketball league partnership.
4. Find out how all our evening youth programs went last night.
5. Work on Missions ’08 ideas and begin putting together a 4 page Stream Missions handbook.
6. Website- We’re creating a new one for the youth group and I need to set up a meeting.
7. Create new Job descriptions for a couple of staff positions and get them turned in by 11am meeting.
8. Dissertation- I need to do some more editing.
9. Work out- I feel like a slug
10. Buy a new toilet for our downstairs bathroom.
11. Call someone asking them to mentor me (he’s been out of town and asked me to call him today)
That’s it in my life. Now I can just open up this post at work since I’ve created my to do list.

I haven’t been out of town, Lars…
Oh wait, you probably weren’t talking about me mentoring you – that WOULD be kinda akward now, wouldn’t it…
