In my opinion the best part of the Youth Specialties convention is seeing friends. I’m lucky that I have done Youth Ministry in Southern California for about 13 years. It’s nice to know a lot of people and to get to see them regularly. The last several days I’ve spent a lot of time sitting at the Forest Home booth just connecting with friends.
A couple ofther things that were great. Shane Claiborne had a great message about his ministry in Northern Philidelphia. Great to see someone who’s not just talking but actually doing.
Pretty moving example he took all the money that he was being given to speak, turned it into 1 dollar bills, wrote “Love” on each bill and challenged people to come take one and make a difference. A great picture of everyone walking to the front to pick up a bill.
It seems that a lot of people were touched by this session. I am, and I am not even there!
