I’ve worked at some amazing churches over the years. As a young pastor I am always looking to find out what I can learn. Today I had a great experience with my executive pastor. I was trying to explain something (and did it poorly) so I went and wrote out my thoughts. After I showed him my thoughts we were on the same page. Then the conversation continued in a direction that was very helpful for me. We talked about my personality, generational issues and even what it takes to be an effective manager. I shared thoughts that I had about the Google Model and the Patagonia models of business. It ended up being a great discussion. Yes I am a bulldozer sometimes. Yes I often think I have the answers. But, I’m also learning to listen, figure out what issues are important and most importantly learning how to approach things in a loving way. I hope to some day figure it all out.
Wow!!!!!!
