A big struggle

I started my second semester of Doctoral classes today. It was a tough morning. Our typical morning chat centers around a book we are reading together. The book this week is tough Michael Polanyi Personal Knowledge: Towards a Post-Critical Philosophy. I haven’t gotten a copy of my book yet (What up Amazon) so I was a bit lost but from what I acertained the book was written way ahead of its time and creates a foundationalistic approach to Philosophy. I wish I had the chat text in front of me to add to this post because it was truly enlightening (and difficult) but also a great way to start off the semester. I’ll add a bit more to this when I dive into the book.

I don’t know much about Polyani, except for what you said: way ahead of his time, and I see everyone quoting him..all the time..in theology, philosophy, etc. Hang in there. I’m overwhelmed as well.
Can you believe that. I got the G4 Powerbook in Dec., and now Apple comes out with the new one….ugghh. Not complaining though, because I love mine.
